Tips To Prepare for Your Reiki Session

Booked your first Reiki session and don’t know what to do to get ready for it? We’ve got you covered. Below are some tips for before, during, and after your energy healing service.
Before your session
Hydrate and nourish:
Drink plenty of water throughout the day, but avoid drinking a large amount right before the session to prevent needing the restroom. Eat a light meal and avoid heavy foods beforehand to stay comfortable.
Avoid stimulants:
Refrain from caffeine, alcohol, and recreational drugs, especially a few hours before your appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing:
Choose soft, breathable fabrics that don't restrict your movement, which will help you relax.
Manage your schedule:
Give yourself extra time to get to the appointment and settle in without feeling rushed. Avoid scheduling stressful activities immediately before or after your session.
Set an intention:
Before your session, think about what you hope to gain from it, such as physical pain relief or emotional release. Don't overthink it; simply being open to receiving what you need is enough.
During your session
Communicate with your practitioner:
Don't hesitate to ask for what you need, such as a blanket or support under your knees.
Relax and let go:
The most important thing you can do is relax. You can drift to sleep, listen to the music, or simply observe your breath without trying to force any specific outcome.
Trust the process:
Allow yourself to experience any sensations that may arise, such as warmth, tingling, burping, or even tears, as these can be normal signs of release.
After your session
Allow for integration:
Reiki energy continues to work after the session ends. Schedule time to simply rest, journal, take a warm bath, or spend time in nature to help process the experience.
Continue to hydrate:
Drink water to help your body release any toxins that may have been stirred up during the session.
Reiki can be so healing and doing your part is vital to the process. But most important of all is....relax and enjoy. It is truly an amazing experience!
